Overview
The Challenge
In the wake of COVID-19, the London Borough of Barnet witnessed a stark decline in its local economy. By December 2020, footfall in North Finchley and Finchley Central Town Centres had plummeted by 22.4%, accompanied by a 30% reduction in visitor dwell time. Local traders were hard-hit, needing urgent support to revitalize their businesses and restore consumer confidence.
The Solution:
Seeking expertise in business rejuvenation, the Borough engaged our seasoned consultancy for a targeted intervention. Our mission was dual-faceted: to provide personalized guidance through 1-on-1 sessions and to foster communal resilience via group workshops. This approach was meticulously designed to enhance business operations, diversify commercial allure, and rebuild customer trust.
The Results:
Our program, active from March 2022 to March 2023, was a cornerstone in advancing the Council's Growth Strategy Delivery Plan. By aligning with the objectives of both the Finchley Central Town Centre Strategy and North Finchley plans, we contributed to the resurgence of thriving high streets symbolic of Barnet's communal spirit and economic vigor. Through this collaborative endeavor, Barnet's town centres are now poised for a renaissance, marking a new chapter of commercial success and community engagement.
